Is factory hornady 7 PRC ammo still slow?

Shooting 100 fps faster isn’t worth reloading over. Consistency in ammo is much more valuable than pure speed

I bought some horn 180eldm ammo from a member here, along with his 7prc that he just had built. Not sure on the ammo date of manufacturer, assuming he bought it after may. I cannot say how long it sit on a shelf before he bought it, though. It chronos 2870fps out of a 26" pva barrel. My handloads with 184 bergers and 70gr h1000 cruise along at 3025fps and shoot better.

This was Hornady 175 ELD-X and the Federal loaded with 175 ELD-X out of a 22" proof carbon barrel. Bought the ammo first of November. The slower is of course the hornady. The federal also grouped a little better.

Edit: pics not showing up. Hornady avg was 2765fps over 5 shots, federal was 2950 fps.
