So, about the time that hostage virus hit, I could no longer get third party pics from photobucket. I follow their website to see that you now need to pay $9.99 a month to be able to see third party pics.

So, is this a hostage virus (if you click on it), or photobucket upping the price of being on the internet? I know for damn sure I ain't payin' ten bucks every month to see your pics!

9.99 a month? What I saw was about 400.00/year for them to host your pics onto a 3rd party site. There's a thread or two already on here about it. I learned that we no longer need 3rd party hosting here since we moved back from Scout, and you can post pics direct from your computer now.

For now I use Imgur. Frank's board software on default settings likes to reduce animated gifs down to almost nothing. I don't allow it to refer and store and lock the image size down on whatever I post. It's easier to do polite size editing on Imgur or via the stretch box after you've posted. I usually reduce quoted images anyway to try and cut down the weight of the thread and the screen space it takes to convey the information.

I got the same message....Youre posting third party photos or some such shit. Somewhere else...here I come. Nothing but a scam.

That's why I was wondering if it was indeed a scam. All of the pics that were third party have the little wheel/gear message and a link to go to.

FWIW, that really sucks because I got to see pics of pmclaine's local gunshop. But, not anymore.
