Is that a kestrel in your pocket or....

So, stupid question. Can you keep your Kestrel in your pocket while at a match? If you turn off automatic updates and spin it before updating environment will that be enough to get accurate readings? Or is it better to wear it on your belt / keep it in your bag?

I have it clipped to my pack or in a pouch on the pack. I always have env off until I need to adjust to a noticeable change in temp.
