Is the RRS BH-55 still the top ball head?

Like my TA-3 but need a little extra range lately. Is the 55 still considered the top option or is there anything else I should be looking at?

I went from a TA3 to an Anvil 30. having the extra range plus the pic rail option is awesome.

I installed one of the newer style plates, that takes both rail types, on my BH-55. I think its still the best ball head if you're going to use it for camera work, as well as shooting, which I do. But if all you're going to do is shoot off of it, go with the Anvil 30 for the simplified controls. I've shot off both and couldn't tell a difference in stability.

Well had a shot at a 55 for $350 brand new so jumped on it. Should have it in 3-4 months with the wether and USPS pace.
