Issue with 12 round MDT mag

Just got in my new MDT BR mags (Black Friday sale). I loaded 12 rounds but the twelfth was extremely hard to get in. I tried to put the mag in the rifle and it wouldn’t go in hardly at all. I had to force it and jam it to get the mag catch to latch. Then it wouldn’t come out without a bunch of force. I removed 1 round and it would at least latch easier but the mag wouldn’t just drop out when pushing the mag release. Still had to pull it by hand. Removed one more round, so 10 still in, work like a charm. Easy in easy release. What is causing that. Is stuffing the mag making the top push out making it hard to get all the way in? Whats the point of buying a 12 round mag that only works with 10 in it.

Are you inserting the mag with the bolt closed? What rifle and chassis/stock are you using? What cartridge?

My 12 rounder were stiff from the factory but will loosen up over time. Like all my metal mags, I adjusted the feed lips so they feed smooth and easy. I'm using the 308 mags but I do recall them being stiff initially fully loaded but after several cycles with dummy rounds they started to feed much smoother.

Didnt even have the bolt in. Foundation stock with Hawkins bottom metal. I certainly understand the stiff spring and break in but not the fact that 12 in it made it almost impossible to put mag in and take out without excessive force. And with just 10 its perfect no issue.

you just need to squeeze the double to single feed junction

when you get the last round in, the follower is likely bottomed out,
which will cause the mag to bulge

Just fyi for anyone interested. @mmlook suggestion of squeezing the mag work perfectly.

Good to know I was just using 10rds in mine which isnt an issue to me, bit 12 is better.
