Wondering if anyone else has issues with tbere bighorns and the 223 cases for controlled round feed? The rifle feeds flawlessly but it isn’t controlled in any manor. The ai mags are plastic so I can’t bend them out, the accurate mags are metal with a plastic insert so bending the feed lips to sit the rounds higher does nothing?

The rifle shoots probably better then any rifle I own. Just too easy to tune lol. But I bought a tl3 cause I wanted control round feed as my other 5 actions are push feed. Wondering if there’s any remedy to this or is it just run it push feed kind of thing?

I have an origin with a 223 barrel. Running mdt and accurate mags I have never had a single issue. It runs like any other caliber.

I know for 223ai (I have read) that they will actually give you a special push feed head because the crf doesnt work so well, not sure about normal 223 though.

Where is it that they arent sliding under the extractor like you are wanting? Probably need to trim the lips back to release earlier but thats a one way street so Im not sure I would go down it.

Does it look like this?

One of the places you probably heard that was me. I read someone bring it up on Accurate Shooter, so when ordering my Origin I mentioned it to Ray. He didn't say one way or the other if it was recommended, just said they could do the push feed head for me. For all I know the company might not think it's necessary but just does it to satisfy the people who bring it up.

My 223AI Origin feeds great with the push feed, but having now used CRF on my new Origin I wish I would have at least tried it out to begin with on the 223. Some guys apparently are running it no problem.

Feeds flawlessly? Just leave it.

Oh I understand that, I’m not looking to break this down and spend a ton of money to possibly ruin it. Just curious if this is a common problem and if there is a way to make it control round feed? If it’s a costly transition then I’ll run it as a push but slightly disappointed in buying a push feed crf action lol
