Anybody have any experience with one of their guns? They guarentee .5 moa with both their 5.56 and 308 guns. They use broughton barrels. They say they use some special chamber design. Cant find much about them on the internet.

Re: J&J armory

"We guarantee a ½ Minute Of Angle (MOA) three-shot group at 100 yards with factory match-grade ammunition. We have been repeatedly achieving same-hole shots in testing."

It isn't that I don't believe them in their boast but I really hate these guarantees. I guess I can shoot a 1/2 MOA with my SASS every now and again if I put the front and rear in bags and get lucky but so what. Can I do it off a bipod with no rear bag? Let's see them do that with a 5 shot or even a 10 shot group and still see if they think it is a 1/2 MOA rifle.
It looks like a nice rifle and if the price was right I would think about it but I wouldn't get all wrapped around the axle if I couldn't hit 1/2 MOA all the time.

Re: J&J armory

Very true,But The accuracy of a 308 SASS needs to be the best it can be bagged down whatever they need to do so they Know what its does.

The 308 SASS is hard to drive and if you have a average 1 to 1.5 MOA bagged perfect world rifle then the real world will make that double in the right conditions and positions.

So If I get a .5 bagged perfect world 308 SASS and have bad conditions and position in theory I should now have 1 to 1.5 MOA field group.

Sun, Wind ,Rain, ants so forth all that adds to the groups size so I want a rifle that starts out tight even if I cant drive it to its bagged perfect world capability it still helps my handicap.

To the OP I have no experience with that company,But I have experience with factory SASS DPMS 308 and there solid accurate.

Re: J&J armory

Maybe they should say "shoots like shit but looks kool" They are trying to tell you that they have (in their mind) a good accurate weapon. Its called marketing no two weapons shoot the same but some set-ups yeild repeatable results. Try one hopefully you get a weapon you like that likes you.OR just let LowLight drive it from what I've seen he can make repeatable hits with anything, underwater if he has to holding his breath ,at night with factory ammo and a $5 scope!!Point is most weapons shoot way better than their drivers but don't tell the drivers they need to blame something, anything but themselves!!

Re: J&J armory

I've heard good things about their 556 stuff so I don't doubt that their 308 is decent too. As far as an accuracy guarantee that's probably if you stick it in a vice and use a certain load, I wouldn't just open the box and expect half inch groups.

btw they have a vendor forum on calguns.net so if you have questions you could just make an account and pm them from there. It looks like they post and respond fairly regularly.

Re: J&J armory

i'll tell you right now they don't make anything they only assemble. how do i know this cuz i've seen the machines with their uppers and lowers rolling off and its not in their shop. For both 5.56 and 7.62

Re: J&J armory

to each their own. especially when spending that kind of money, you might as well pick and choose what you want and send it to someone to assemble instead of getting their "package".

Good point.

Re: J&J armory

Thanks, I was just curious. I was wondering what people experience was with them. It does sound like that there is not many of them out there or that they are anything special. I was thinking .5 moa gaurntee out of a gas gun was quite a promise. Bumped into a rep the other day and he made it sound like the shooting worlds best kept secret. I understand marketing but if you have a quality product some one here would have one.

Re: J&J armory

skog if you like the uppers and lowers i'll send ya to the place they are made, pic what stock etc you like, get a trigger and send the rest to GAP and have em barrel it for ya. Bet you won't be dissapointed.

Re: J&J armory

Greetings:
At todays's fun show I met some of the people from J&J. The .308 version FIR-2 had a price tag of $3495 for all barrel lengths. They guarantee .5 moa(3) rounds with match ammo. The rifle's mass is nicely balanced.

The receivers appear to be the same as JD Machine Tech. Nicely machined; the .308 receiver is machined from a billet, not from a forging. No machine marks were evident in all external and internal surfaced.

Re: J&J armory

I haven't had a chance to shoot their rifles yet, but got a chance to train with the owners recently in a class. Nice guys, squared away, knowledgable, dedicated shooters and focused on producing the best quality product that they can.

What you see as a "good value" in any gun is a pretty personal thing, but these guys have the right mindset and attitude. I'm not really into gas guns for precision applications, but I'd be curious to give their rifles some run time.
