Guys,
I want to mount one of these types of scopes on my sniper rifle. As I own an LWRC repr with a 20in I have more rail than I know what to do with. What is the best position to mount the scope? Should I mount towards the rear of the eyepiece of the scope at a 45 degree angle using one of Burkett's mounts?
Next question, there are huge price point differences in these sights. Trijicon rmr is over $600....leuopold deltapoint is $500 plus...j point is $279 or so. The burris fastfire II from optics planet is about $200 with no shipping free. The only real deifferences I can see are the glass (they are either glass or some type of acrylic which could lead to some mild distortion) and the elevation and windage knobs on the lower priced models like the burris do not have tacticle clicks when adjusting. Not a big deal just might take a bit longer to get the precise zero. Remember, I am only using this for cqb if things go to total sh&t. Anyone have experience with the burris fastfire ii? I was thinking about mounting this just behind my US optics SN-3 for the really short range stuff.
Am I missing something? anyone have any experience with one of these little sights on their AR?
Thanks!
