Ok, just spent the last couple hours on the search engine trying to find some comparisons on these stocks. From what I've seen, the JAE is heavy, the Sage is compact, and the Troy, well, haven't seen much on that one really. So, with that said, anyone with experience with these, please let me know your thoughts on them, or if it's been covered and you have a link to the thread, point me to it?

Thanks!

The JAE is heavy and increases weight but has great ergonomics. Also the most expensive. The sage with original but stock has a great range of adjustments, integrates with your rifle, increased accuracy on my loaded, is heavy as well but gives you tons of rail realty.Second most expensive. The troy is a GI stock with a new ass stuck on it. makes it an AR-14 if you will. great for ergos if that's what you're looking for. Best all around for me was the sage. Price is good, no bedding offered most gain for my uses. It is comfortable, cut a half inch off my groups.

The well built JAE is heavy, expensive and has many parts.
The TROY is heavy, eliminates the factory iron sights and it's relatively expensive.

Different versions of the SAGE EBR are currently being used by
the US military and a couple new EBR variants are on the way.

Depending on the particular SAGE EBR you pick it can be rather light or it can be a bit heavy.
The Mod 1 is the lightest and the Mod 0 is the heaviest, and then there's the new National Match EBR stock...

Of the three, I recommend a rock solid, battle proven SAGE EBR.

Re: JAE-100 G2 vs. Sage EBR vs. Troy MCS

I have the JAE on my current build and like it. It is heavy but a stable platform for a precision rifle.

My next build will have a Sage Mod 1 since it's lighter and more compact and I'll be building it with a different purpose in mind.

The Troy... I feel like this takes everything good about the M14 platform and makes it into a bastard AR-10 that's front heavy. The few people I've known to get them have since switched them out for Sage or JAE stocks.

If I had to categorize them all I'd say use a JAE for a long range precision setup that doesn't need to see much off hand use. Use a Sage for an all around rugged and accurate setup. Use a Troy to keep the door propped open in the summer to enjoy the breeze. Or use a Troy if you have an M14 variant and want an AR-10 variant that's kind of awkward and front heavy.

Re: JAE-100 G2 vs. Sage EBR vs. Troy MCS

Thanks guys! Now for the dumb question on top of the previous one... am I correct that what you're calling the Mod 0 is the M14ALCS and the Mod 1 is the M14ALCS/CV? The other question I have too is, I know the JAE is pretty end user friendly for installation, how about the Sage? I just found the installation manual for it online but was wondering if my basic mechanic/gunsmith skills would be up to it or if it's a "take it somewhere and have them do it!" type thing.

Still looking to get other folks input too, I'd really appreciate anyone's experience with any of them though. Though the Troy has pretty much lost me at this stage.

Howdy, I have a Scout Squad in a Sage Mod 1 and love it. Yes it is heavy, but that's about the only downside I have for it. When I got my stock I looked at the manual it came with and was lost. The instructions are not very user friendly IMHO. Luckily, someone on another forum lived near me and was able to come over and help put everything together. As we put it together, I realized it was actually pretty simple to do. It's just the instructions don't explain the process Barney style enough. There are also "how to" videos on youtube that show how to assemble and disassemble the weapon from the stock. You don't have to remove the weapon from the stock for cleaning, but if you do decide to, it is simple. There are tons of mounting options on the sage, as well as the ability to fit a stock you like, and the ability to make it a folder. My EBR:

Ok... I now have Sage lust... thanks for all the input guys, I think I've made up my mind now. BigBoss's pics answered my question about the Mod0/Mod1 thing, though now I'm curious about balance and weight differences between the two. Does the Mod1 make it front heavy then?

Re: JAE-100 G2 vs. Sage EBR vs. Troy MCS

Apples to apples:

If the barrel in both are the same length and profile the Mod 1 will feel a little more nose heavy because
it lacks all of the heavy metal that makes up the fully adjustable butt stock found on the Mod 0.

One could add weight to the extension tube on the Mod 1 and make the weight bias more neutral
