Maggie’s Javelin missile range 400meters lol

Did anybody catch bozo Biden the clown claim today that the range of the javelin is a whopping 400 meters? If he only had a clue. I mean we’re shooting 22lr about that far at weekend matches lol. Think he was missing a zero. He’s so clueless.

I'd wager 95% of the Hide can't tell you the max effective range of a Javelin off the top of their head. Fuck, I'd wager 95% of current active duty US military couldn't quote that off the top of their head.
2.5-3 miles, depending on visibility of the target. (It's limited by fuel, as a man-launched missle)

Biden kept asking his aid when he was going to get a chance to drive the Javelin at the factory ..........

I’m many years out. Biden is “running” the historicity most powerful country in the world. Different expectations. He is an advanced dementia patient covering for Obama the Kenyan. It’s a fucking joke, and the whole world knows it.

Yeah, but we aren’t standing up in front of people and cameras pretending that we do…right?

US media ignores it, but the rest of the world isn't.

That's for sure. I took my grandkids to see the NG Howitzers at the Iowa State 4th of July fireworks show, after they accompanied the symphonic orchestra in Tchaikovski's 1812 Overture ("Bells and Cannons"). They had finished packingup and were waiting onthe traffic to diminish in order to leave. I asked a Private, a E-7, and the LT in succession to state the nomenclature of the weapon they had ben firing. They couldn't. I asked, "Can you at least let me see the data plate so I can read it to my grandkids?" (I am sure it is a brass plaque near the breech, or near the gunner's position). They didn't know where it was placed, and by then my frustration (and embarassment at their ignorance) was too much. I went back to the senior NCO and quietly informed discussed with him that he needed to tighten up on the training around here.
The M119A3 Howitzer is a breech loaded 105 mm, lanyard fired, towed recoil-damped artillery piece originating in England and now produced in the US (Rock Island). It weighs 5,110 lbs, with BILL, and is 7'3" when deployed for firing. It fires all the variants of 105 mm projectile, and can use telescopic sights for aiming direct fire. It is crewed by 5-7 personnel, and can be towed by 2.5 ton truck, or HMMV. Maximum rate of fire: 8 rds per minute for 3 minutes or sustained fire of 3 rds per minute for 30 minutes. Range is 17,500m-19,500m.
If a Medic can have that information, why can't a NG senior NCO or an LT? Fricken Sad.

Most likely Guard or Reserve.

I guess, the military reported that; while Joe is sending Javelins, Biden didn't authorize any 'trainers' (javelin simulators). Therefore; lots of money is being lost; due to not being able to practice before using the real thing.

Pretty sure you telling em that accomplished nothing. Just saying. Can't expect too much from weekend warriors (no offense intended)

Nonetheless those of us who do not know the number would not simply spout some made up bullshit as though it was gospel.

My dad was 1st sergeant in Army artillery, I got to fire those as a kid! Wish I had kept up with the spent shells. Back then they didn't seem special.

The TOW2B has a range of 3750 meters, which is 2.3 miles. Not nearly as portable, though. 😁

One of the E7's in my company was an amateur photographer, and spent all day trying to time the shot perfectly. He finally succeeded when it was my turn to fire a live round. He gave me a framed print as a souvenir.

Always hard to time shots with a Polaroid. :)
He just needed a camera with a faster shutter speed; lol
That is a perfect picture btw.. !!

about 1.5 miles

The Javelin missile has a maximum effective range of about 1.5 miles. Since it's a passive weapon, tank crews can't detect a Javelin in the area until it's fired, and even then many Russian tanks can't see the weapon approaching.

The Javelin missile has a maximum effective range of about 1.5 miles.
Old data. Even the CLU has been completely overworked.

Refer to manufacturer specs posted 11 above yours.

The originals may still be out there, perhaps many in Eastern Europe now. They live-fire train with the old stuff here in GA.

If one of my Marines would have ever spouted off anything “about…” or even worse spit out a number in miles when I asked them the max effective range of their weapon system, they would have gotten well on their way to being a strong mother fucker who never again forgot what their weapon’s capabilities were by the time I got done with them.

Thanks for proving me correct.
