Join the contest SubscribeBlanchard can do this all the way to sitting...he used it in my squad in like 2016 in New mexico
for the sitting he would move is foot from under him and sit on his butt, then rest the rifle on the top of his boot/pants and grab it to keep it from sliding
IF you can get into the position its actually very stable...my torso is slightly too long for me to do it, i can get into the position, but then i cant breathe lol
That's the position you end up in for the second shot, after the kneeling one.@Supersubes I’m sorry sir, but we are talking about kneeling, your pictures are obviously about alternative prone positions ( I think? ) haha.
Don’t try that with a heavy recoiling gun,
I can’t imagine that is not very stable, but maybe it is
How is that more stable than a traditional sling kneeling?
I think a bigger concern is the head/eye position, it’s gotta be easy to can’t the rifle that way
Lack of training leads to innovation or bastardization of the positions
Now THAT is an interesting quote!
On the one hand you're a brilliant innovator in the realm of positional shooting who is widening all our horizions. On the other hand you're an untrained moron who's doing it wrong!
Dang don't know how I missed this. Im famous.
Couple thoughts...
-lots of match directors get around this by saying "no yoga positions" or "barrel has to be above knee." I practice both and am completely fine with both.
-100% more solid than sling traditional and 100% faster trasnsition positions...esp in cold weather!
-if it wasn't so cold and so many layers, I usually have butt inside elbow - no worries on recoil
-def practice before trying in a match. target acquisition through scope is 200% harder than any other position
-transition, as mentioned, to sitting is super fast
-rifle is almost 5 lbs under 20#...man the haters are getting redic! lol
-MOST IMPORTANT - I cleaned that stage. suck it trebec.
haha

DT
eta - contrary to popular haters...if you suck at positional, this isn't a fix. its a tool. and much harder to use, not only for flexibility reasons but several others you will find out during shooting. GL.
