Jeremy Lin

Re: Jeremy Lin

I agree with you. It's nice to see an athlete who doesn't start conversations with "I'm going to take my talents to...."

Due to my location, I only catch the highlights once in a while on AFN. Still, it's great to see someone come out of nowhere and take the NBA by storm. I mean, this Harvard grad was sleeping on his brother's couch two weeks ago, and now he's the biggest news the NBA's got right now. I only hope he's able to maintain his performance. NYC is one of the toughest sports towns in the world. The same crowd that adores you one week, can crucify you the next week. I'm definitely pulling for him though.

Re: Jeremy Lin

Jeremy had a rough night last night and experienced some growing pains, but it is the NBA. He is smart kid who already has showed from the first quarter to the fourth that he can learn from his mistakes.

Re: Jeremy Lin

Lin has more points and assists in his first 8 games than Magic, Isiah, or John Stockton. I guess that classifies as a good start. I really haven't watched NBA since Jordan retired (the second time) but I find myself looking up the Knicks to see what Lin does each night.

Re: Jeremy Lin

Don't know who to give credit to, but here's a summary of his game with the Heat last night:

"There were 9 NBA players and a guy from Harvard out there."

Chalmers worked his ass. Be interesting to see how he preserveres from here, now that some of his previously known weekspots have been displayed.

Re: Jeremy Lin

I'm biased, as I am a Miami native. For as long as I have followed sports, people have complained that it is all about money and athletes don't care about the game, or championships.

When a superstar finally does care, and takes a pay cut to realize that ambition, all we do is pile on him. Is it envy?

Yes.

I think Lin is just a kid who cares about improving every night and playing at the highest level. If that invokes criticism, I'm not sure why. I think it says more about the people who criticize.

Because that is what all of these so called "experts" on Espn thrive on. There are so many great stories in sports. How often do see them?
