Jerry Reed and the F-16

Jerry Reed has always been a favorite. As has the F-16. I grew up approx 1500 ft from the end of a USAF base run way. Major base for the F-16. In the bases normal flight path the jets (some F-15s and F-111 also ) cleared the house by about 150ft, The cargo planes (C-130s mostly) cleared the house by only 35-40 ft. In the '80s when the place started to grow the base apparently had enough noise complaints (not from us) that they announced the flight path would shift.
Maybe someone 3 miles away didn't get a fly over anymore but for us they went from flying over the house and across the deck to flying over the driveway and across the house a shift of about 30 ft for us.

Happens at lots of AF bases, the runways rairly change, but the property close tends to be cheap, so developers buy and then build, and inevatably people wo didnt do their research complain.
