The Senior Firearms Instructor is a part-time, weekend position, with occasional weekday availability preferred. The applicant will conduct a variety of firearms training with precision long range rifle, carbine, handgun and shotgun for civilian students with a variety of skill levels. In this role, you will lead and/or assist other instructors, based on the course type or company instructions.
Applicants must perform with the utmost professionalism and must have 5 years minimum documented experience as a firearms instructor, detailing their certifications, abilities, and/or accomplishments. The applicant should also possess real world experience as a range officer.
Required Attributes: The applicant must be a poised, experienced and results-oriented leader, who can cope with new and experienced students, other instructors and be able to operate properly within a large, dynamic range operation. The applicant must also have a professional friendly demeanor and the willingness to treat all customers, employees and partners with a high level of service and respect. Additionally, the applicant must also have excellent communication abilities and be able to deliver classroom and range presentations and instructions for a variety of training courses. The applicant must be physically fit and able to stand and work outdoors for long periods of time and be able and willing to help with: range maintenance efforts, clean up, set up, tear down, target system repair and/or equipment organization or other duties which may be assigned from time to time.
Additional Duties and Requirements:
- Teach a variety of courses for precision rifle, carbine, pistol and shotgun (firearms and tactics courses)
- Competition experience a plus
- Ensure safety of students, employees and spectators
- Communicate and oversee compliance with company policy, procedures and safety guidelines
- Assists and edits course curriculum from time to time, as directed by management staff
- Lead or assist in various firearms, tactics or competition courses
- Maintain overall safety and organization of the training environment
- On occasion, conduct web-based or mobile training
- Demonstrate proper firearms use, safety and marksmanship skills with a rifle, handgun or shotgun
- Explain various uses of firearms and related optics, equipment or related gear
- Evaluate the abilities of individual students or participants and if necessary, determine suitable corrective or remedial training
- Ensure accountability and care of all training equipment
- Complete all required continuing education and refresher training programs
- Complete other duties, as assigned

Additional Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in firearms training
- Current NRA pistol instructor certification a plus
- Law Enforcement, Military, and/or Security background a plus
- Completion of US Military/Law Enforcement (DCJS or POST) course or equivalent years of experience in tactical instruction a plus
- Must pass background investigation and a drug test and have no legal disqualifiers to possess firearms
- Proficiency in MS Office required
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
Instructor Character and Past Performance:
Applicant’s record must be free of criminal conduct and if discharged from the military, applicant must have an honorable discharge. Applicants must also be legally allowed to possess firearms.
Administration: The incumbent must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and able to provide weekly performance updates using these tools, as required.
Location / Compensation: This is a part-time position, requiring an average availability of between 10 and 30 hours per week. The applicant must be able to be on site at the Peacemaker National Training Center, located in Glengary, WV (approximately 60 Miles West of the DC Metro area). The applicant must work on various weekends and weekdays, as scheduled. Pay scale commensurate with experience and based on skill sets.
