Agreed. Getting frustrated with the TT reticle choices. It's reputed to track perfect and have phenomenal glass, but several other high-end manufacturers offer that, with better reticle selections and less $.
However, from a consumer-psychology perspective, are you sure you would desire one so strongly if it was deeply discounted? That "addiction" would seem to suggest the answer would be "no". That itch can only be scratched by a TT.
Was really into fine Swiss timepieces for a while and found myself doing the same thing there. Ended up realizing that for me, the time keeping itself was my thing, not so much the mechanism, so I ended up happy with a relatively inexpensive quartz that keeps time better than any mechanical certified chronometer, through more abuse.
Over time, came to realize that for me it's the same with scopes. Bullets on target is my thing, not really so much the instruments that allow that to happen. If my super chickens actually worked, I'd be chuffed and done looking / out shooting.
So perhaps it's all about what drives you? The high-end equipment itself seems an important part of your thing, so short of a Hensoldt ZF 3.6-26x56 Sand, the TT is a superlative choice. I'd bet once the new reticle is out, you'll find a used TT no problem.[/QUOTE
Very well put Sir. I have to admit, I have chased the more pricey items as well.
