Picked up one of these uppers about a month ago for my son to use for deer hunting. 1/9 twist, M4 profile with M4 cut outs on the upper and barrel extension.
16" M4 Upper
I had a RRA lower with a two stage RRA trigger and a 6 position stock. He's 9 and I liked the ability to adjust the LOP to suit him. Also the weight and recoil are perfect. He absolutely loves it. It's topped off with a Vortex Viper 2-7x32 and a Leapers offset mount. I mess around with Leapers mounts with my airguns and have found them to be a good value for the money. Not something I would want to take to war but certainly good to go for hunting/plinking. The upper with charging handle, bolt and BCG was only $335 plus shipping. I was a little skeptical but they had good reviews. The only items I swapped out was a one piece helical gas ring and a D-fender under the extractor.
I took it out recently to let him shoot it and try out some different weight bullets. Results were okay with most running 2-3 MOA. I picked up some 64 grain Winchester power points. I set some on top of 22.5 grains of Accurate 2460, CCI 41 Primers. I don't remember seating depth right off hand but it was well within magazine length.
With this load it ran solid 1.5 MOA. I could probably run it a little hotter and things may tighten up but I think I'll leave well enough alone.
Anyway, just wanted to let anyone thinking about one of these uppers that they are high quality and a good value for the money. I would buy another.
