Been lurking here for quite a while and finally decided to register. Im fairly new to long range shooting but not a newbie to shooting or guns in general. My first and only long range rig (for right now anyway...) is a Savage model 10 in .308. Its got a primary arms 4-14x44 ffp mil/mil scope with mildot reticle, egw 20 moa base, burris xtr rings (low), harris bipod and tac ops stock pad. I hope I dont get flamed too much for the scope, I know its not the best but for someone still learning the ropes it will serve its purpose until my skills improve at which point I will upgrade. Suprisingly its actually a decent scope with good glass quality, tracks well and holds zero but Im sure at least one person will tease me for it but oh well. Ive only shot around 40-50 rounds thru it and only at 100 yards, I can shoot at 200 to 300 yards on my dads property but havent yet cleared the brush away for clear sight lines. I have gottn good groups with fgmm most are around .50 moa and none greater than an inch. I think thats not too bad considering Im still a beginner. I also live in fredericksburg, Va which is very close to quantico marine core base and I will be joining the shooting club there very soon so if anyone here shoots there I would love the chance to learn from someone more experienced. I really want to try my hand at the 1000 yard game but not before Im confident in my ability. Have a shipment of 175 grain run and gun coming from swammo that should arrive by end of next week. Will join quantico shooting club once I have the ammo in hand and some free time. Hope I didnt run on too much but thanks to anyone that reads this post and I look forward to learning as much as I can here. One day hope to have something to contribute thats worthwhile and will help out someone who is new just like I am right now. Thanks again!
