Has anyone seen the movie "shooter"? In one part I remember the guy just spraying his entire rifle including the scope with cheap spraypaint. Is that something you could actually do, if you covered the lenses of the scope and maybe the bolt?
most go into a little more detail. taping off stuff and blah, blah, blah. there's a lot here about it. hit the search and you will find more than i can possibly tell you.
Thats a good show execpt for the 20' tall soup can and when the remote gun is up in the tower, and the screen turns green like your looking through the scope, it says 60 BMG. LOL

In the first sniper scene on the hill him and his spotter are in army cammy's not marine.
Half of his 900 yard/1200 shots are actually only 40 yards/125 yards away when milled lol
I ruined that movie for my self

You guys are going to ruin that movie for me. I dig shooter as it was intended: a pretty good flick with guys shooting stuff and blowing stuff up. Dont make me mil out the can...please...you can't make me. I WON'T RUIN IT FOR MYSELF.

How about a 5 page thread from this very forum of people doing just that.
Well good shots or not... he was having some serious malfunctions with that barrett... Having to manually charge it after every shot???? Maybe if he performed proper weapons maintnance before his op, he could have had semi auto capability and taken out the Helo before his buddy got gunned down... Now he has to live with that for the rest of his life..
You can also use alumhyde if you want a durable finish that can just be sprayed on and is cheap you can pick it up at Brownell's. Or if you want that battlefield pick up look use the Krylon over time the worn marks do add character and tell people its a shooter.

Read the book The Shooter its better than the movie could ever be especially the courtroom scene. Fewer mistakes in the book. Stephen? Hunter wrote the book.
If you paint your rifle it becomes super strong

That is most likely the most beautiful painting I have aver seen on a rifle. What gun is that? looks to me like a rem 700 with a custom barrel and stock...
