Just a thread to link up with some hide members to see who else is going and where you're staying. I'm heading down Thursday and planning to shoot Friday tune up plus match.

Haven't been there before but curious if any of you are planning to stay in Jackson vs the one hotel in Henderson.

Hopefully get to meet of few of you guys at the match! It's cool to faces with names and link up on-site.

Pumped for the match!

I’m going Friday morning and also doing the tune up. Jackson has numerous hotels but they are all on the north end and u have to drive all the way through town to go back and forth. There is a hotel in Henderson, that U spoke of, much much closer. 10 minute drive from Henderson and 30 minutes from hotels in Jackson (can be 45 minutes with afternoon traffic). Bunk house is also an option, it’s extremely nice, like the rest of the facility!

Good Intel. I am leaning towards the Henderson hotel or seeing if I can camp overnight at facility.

I'll be there. I try to stay at the Americana since it's a) cheap, b) closest to the range, and c) packed with people shooting the match. Down side is it's usually booked up the day sign ups open, so I always book well in advance. The bunk house is reserved for ROs for 2-day matches, as far as I know. RV sites usually go fast, but I've known a couple people to primitive camp at the range. Given how warm and humid it can be, not sure I'd go that route, though.

Awesome. I've got a buddy that will be photographing the match (@pga43 ) and he will likely be in Jackson. I'm going to reach out to Julie to see about on-site availability but leaning towards hotel to stay rested for the long weekend.

Have always stayed at the Americana in the past but renting a house this year through Air B&B. I think they use the bunkhouse to house RO’s who want to stay on-site but I could be wrong.

My wife and I stayed in Henderson at the Americana Inn. It's dated, but clean. We had a short 15 minute drive to K&M the next morning.

Snookum's Steakhouse in Henderson is a place to get some very good food, despite what images you conjure up from the name.

And we always get a Dairy Queen Blizzard as a end-of-match treat in Henderson before the drive home.

Bunkhouses are for RO's. When I shoot there, I have always camped at the range. A buddy stayed in Jackson once, but be mindful of your guns/gear....some of those hotels are skeezy.

*Edit to add: Chicasaw state park is a quick 7 miles west of Henderson on Hwy-100. I've stayed there too. It's nice and has stuff for the family while you are shooting. Lake swimming, camping, canoeing, horseback riding, playground, etc. Even has a restaurant.

That's really good to know. May be bringing the family along for the trip and would give them something to do when I'm away.

Americana Inn. Closest to the range. It is already booked. The minute the 2019 Schedule came out, I booked my room for both the K&M PRC and GAP Grind. See yinz all there.

Me too. In NC now. Bringing yinz guys some Yuengling and dat there.
Too bad I can’t get Primanti Bros shipped there.
Don’t think they could find the Americana Inn.
??

My wife and I are signed up to shoot. Apparently, I didn't get the memo on how exciting squading is for these matches! It was slim pickens by Saturday; barely found a squad with two open spots.

We found a good deal at an "AirBnB" near the range.

My shooting buddy and I will be there shooting the train up and then RO’ing for y’all. Figured this would be a good introduction into matches, especially at the national level. Looking forward to putting some faces to names on here

Thanks for ROing. It's definitely a great way to learn. I'd suggest requesting to be a scorekeeper, as it allows you to watch how shooters approach your stage, and see what ideas work great... and which ones fail miserably.

We are looking forward to it. Who all is shooting the train up on a Friday?

We will keep that in mind. I’ll talk to Julie and see what she can do. Thanks for the help

Shooters have to pay to shoot the train-up. I doubt I will bother, honestly, but plenty of people pay up just to get time on the movers and check their data at distance.
