Kahles Helia Rangefinder Binocular 8x42/10x42

Zeiss has a new set out, claiming 2300 meters.
I have the older version, great glass good laser on the chunky side. (10x45RFB)

Thank you Rthur, I saw that, along with the new Leica HD-B's; however the Kahles looks like it would be right around the $1500 price point which is half of what the Leica and Zeiss come in at. Right now I'm using a Sig Kilo 2000 and set of Minox BL 10x44 HD's which I've been pretty happy with but I'd like a set of LRF Bino's that combine the two together. The Leica HD-B's have tempted me for a while now, but so far whenever I've had the money I've spent it on another riflescope or better riflescope so was hoping the Kahles Helia LRF's might bridge that gap, better than the Bushnell 1 miles in IQ while being half the price of the top tier. I've looked through the Bushnell's and they are decent but I'd like something better optically, Vortex came out with their Fury HD last year which is supposed to match the Viper HD glass but I have no idea how good/accurate their LRF is so have not looked further into them. It seems the mid tier LRF Bino market is somewhat sparse at this time and opens the door for market share for other manufacturers. Would be a perfect opportunity for Sig to blend their success with the Kilo with some Tango 6 glass into a LRF Bino or for Bushnell to create an Elite Tactical LRF Bino and even for Vortex to up their game with an AMG LRF Bino.

They are on the pricey side. I'd like to handle the new version.
Might be expensive to do so though lol

Imho, the a Nikon is not in the same league as the swaro, leica, Zeiss. The 3 nikons I have tried worked fine, but are on the same level with laser performance or glass. Not a slam to the Nikon, I have owned all of the big name lrf binos ( except the new Zeiss ) and sold them all because they couldn't do everything I needed and cost to much for me to compromise on performance. For anybody looking at budget friendly lrf binoculars, I would suggest the Bushnells. I have been impressed with mine for the $$

My personal experience with the Bushnells is that they work well but the battery compartment is a major achilles heel.
I've had my break off in competition. Sent them back, paid for a repair and the compartment is still loose and off at an angle form the centerline.
Hopefully someone with good glass will get their internal/laser/ballistics crap together and get back on track.
I've seen too many Leicas fail.

I was looking at these and was really intrigued, but I decided that when it’s time to upgrade my Bushnell I’m gonna go vortex because since they’ll be used for hunting a good bit I want to know if something happens out there I’ll be taken care of right away. I don’t know why Kahles wouldn’t make them available here in the US though

I'm really interested in the Vortex Fury HD LRF Binos as well, but haven't seen much in regard to reviews. Right now I use a Sig Kilo 2000 with Minox 10x44 HD's but if the Fury HD would offer the same performance in a combined package, I'd rather go that route. Vortex told me the Fury HD's have glass on par with the Viper HD bino's, the big unknown is the LRF performance, I'd really like to see how it compares to the Kilo's

I tried the Vortex fury , along side the Bushnell LRF binos, Swarovski LRF binos, and Sig kilo 2000 recently. The Vortex has good glass ,but the LRF has a lot to be desired. I was easily ranging large rocks and cows at 1300 yards with the Swarovski , Bushnell and the Sig, but the Vortex would not range them. I was very disappointed in the Vortex LRF performance.

Wish you would have posted that a couple days ago as I just ordered a Vortex Fury HD set from CS Tactical, well here's hoping mine somehow does better, but all I have to compare it to (LRF wise) is my Sig Kilo 2000.

Eh, yeah, I have one of the older model Leica Geovid 10x42 HD-Rs cause I like the erogs better with big hands and I had to send it in for service after its first outing due to a seriously dim reticle, never heard of that complaint about them either, but they accepted them for service and said that indeed there was an issue. 4 effing months later they're back and I swear I'm not seeing a whole lot of difference... Anyone else heard of this in current or prior gens of Leica Geovids...? If these continue to fail to impress, I'm ready to step up to the big leagues, which I though I did.
