thanks badshot308, some one on an other sight told me that the kaiser KR7 is based on the stoner platform. Does that mean any thing to you? or is it a joke, you know like its fffD up and high.

Thinking of changing my name to AR10 newbe

Re: kaiser KR7 lower 308 fits what uppers ?

All AR's regardless of caliber are based on the original AR-10 design developed by Eugene Stoner. What the person probably meant however, is that the DPMS platform 308 rifles use a magazine compatible with the original waffle type mags AR-10 mags. KAC, Knights Armament Company, has been using a mag compatible with the original waffle mags for their SR-25 for many years. DPMS copied the mags from KAC when they started producing their LR-308 rifles. The upper and lower recievers of the DPMS LR-308's however are not compatible with the KAC SR-25 uppers and lowers. The majority of 308 AR type rifles on the market use the DPMS/KAC SR-25 mags. The current Armalite company purchased by Mark Weston during the 1994 gun ban period uses mags based on the M14 rifle for their AR-10. Armalite has the trademark to the AR-10 name so you won't see other companies calling their 308 AR type rifles AR-10's. The mag based on existing M14 mags gave Armalite a legal high cap mag to offer the public during the ban. With the sunset of the ban in 2004, most companies are using the SR-25/DPMS pattern mags.
