Yeah, I know a lot of you are thinking "what the hell is karmaloop and why should I care?" Well, I'll tell you why...

If you didn't know karmaloop is one of, if not THE biggest online one-stop type shop for the latest "hip" name brand clothing and accessories. Chances are, someone you know shops there be it a brother/sister, nephew/niece, son/daughter, friends, etc.

So anyway, one of the only name brands whose designs I like sells their shirts there, so every now and then I place an order. So its been about a year since I last placed an order there, and I was on the site and had my cart loaded up and was going to check out, when I see a "stop gun violence" clickable banner at the top of the screen, so naturally, I click it to see what it is about, and to my horror, I see this;

The entire Karmaloop family is deeply saddened by the senseless gun violence that plagues our neighborhoods, streets and schools.

In the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy, we are determined to have our voices, and the voices of the millions who visit our site each month, heard. We must put a stop to this seemlingly unending national epidemic of violence.

Karmaloop is also teaming up with The Brady Campaign, which works to pass and enforce sensible federal and state gun laws, regulations, and public policies through grassroots activism, electing public officials who support common sense gun laws, and increasing public awareness of gun violence through the Campaign’s Million Mom March and Brady Chapters.

Karmaloop has decided to match dollar for dollar any donations we collect for The Brady Campaign, up to $25,000.00. Please donate what you can to the Brady Campaign to help raise awareness and funds to fight gun violence

Additionally, Karmaloop has teamed up with famed graffiti artist Shepard Fairey, who has created a Limited Edition Anti-Gun Violence T-shirt only available on Karmaloop.com. All proceeds from the sale of this t-shirt will also be donated to the Brady Campaign.

Together, we can work for sensible gun laws, and ensure that a day will come when all Americans are safe in our communities. We must act now.

Donate to the Brady Campaign to prevent gun violence: REMEMBER Karmaloop will match your donations up to $25,000! Every little bit helps!

Obviously, I didn't go through with the order, nor will I ever give them another dime again. Its one thing to be sort of scared of guns and maybe want background checks or whatever, (though I disagree with that and try to inform people why the laws we have in place are already enough) but to financially support a devious organization that corrupts our system through financial "donations" (ie bribes) and poisons the minds of people in this country (and abroad) with disinformation and false propaganda is entirely another. And the fact that this company is encouraging their customers to support the Brady Campaign and gun control is disgusting. Not only that, but Karmaloop also pledges to match customer donations to the Brady Campaign as well...

I would hope that people folks here at the Hide would talk to people they know and find out if they ever buy anything from Karmaloop and encourage them to stop giving their money to this company.

I know I will. And it sucks since the only place to purchase the brand I like in my size is from them, but this is way more important than a shirt brand I like.

Did you get a CSR on the hook and explain that they are losing sales? I think that's an important part of not patronizing an establishment. It likely wouldn't matter for this particular business, as it seems they target the granola type crowd, but I usually try to let a business know why they have lost my $$$. It has worked in the past, but it takes a while; one customer doesn't change a lot, but they keep track of negative comments far more than positive, and when sales fall, they look for any and all reasons to bring them back. Cuz it's about the money.

Never heard of them so I went to their website to look them over. As you said, right at the top in plain view is the stop gun violence banner. Then I look at their brands and I see baggy pants and hip hop models. I see gang banger tennis shoes and a brand called "Kill Brand". How funny is it that they are catering to the crowd that, at least in my neck of the woods, is doing all the gun violence?
You didn't notice any of that did you?
Will they stop selling Kill Brand and baggies to gang bangers? No
