Suppressors Kel-tec Sub 2000 9mm??

Re: Kel-tec Sub 2000 9mm??

I had one a while back and it ran like a champ with WWB 115gr. Just be sure to pick up a few of the super big mags for extra fun.

Re: Kel-tec Sub 2000 9mm??

My dad has one of the early ones iwth the metal receiver. I'd stick to the 9mm version, there's been some fractured receivers with the new guns (plastic receiver) shooting really hot 40 cal loads.

The 9mm also will use the G18 mags that hold 33 rounds.

It would make a perfect truck gun.

Yeah, it should work good with my Glock 17 and I already have a few G18 mags laying around.

I'll probaly buy one later this week, I haven't heard anything negative about them.

Thanks.

Thought about doing it, but you lose the front sight because it's molded onto the muzzle. To replace the front sight and then the rear sight would be a PITA worth of machining.

The other problem is that the 16" barrel pushes the 115's over 1700 fps and it took a good bit of work to get the 147's to stay subsonic.

Since my dad's action is one of the early ones it's worth a bit more money as a "collectors" item so we elected not to mess with it any more.

The solution for up close suppressed 9mm in a carbine was to get a Hi Point for 200 bucks and then put the suppressor on it, that way any experimentation was done on an easy to replace 200 dollar POS instead of a non-replaceable $500+ carbine.

While we had the Hi Point completely torn down to get the barrel out for threading we also did a trigger job on it. For what it is, it works fine. It's an up close SEBR that's fun to plink with quietly.
