<span style="font-weight: bold">Ken Hackathorn has served as a US Army Special Forces Small Arms Instructor, Gunsite Instructor, and NRA Police Firearms Instructor. He is currently an FBI Certified Firearms Instructor, Certified Deputy Sheriff with Washington County SO, Ohio, and a SRT member and Special Response Team trainer. Ken has trained US Military Special Operations forces, Marine FAST and SOTG units and is a contract small arms trainer to FBI SWAT and HRT.
Ken has provided training to Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies and been active in small arms training for the past 25 years. He has written firearms related material for Guns & Ammo, Combat Handguns, Soldier Of Fortune, and currently American Handgunner and contributed to at least six other gun/shooting journals. Ken was also a founding member of IPSC and IDPA.</span>

Ken Hackathorn 2-Day Home Defense - Oct 28-29, 2011 - Marietta, Ohio</span>
<span style="font-weight: bold">The Home Defense course will cover fundamentals of protecting your home via a defensive mindset. Tactics are much different than a typical team or two man CQB tactics approach. Strong emphasis will be on one man clears that limit danger or exposure to the home owner. Combat marksmanship skills development training to make survival against single or multiple attacker will be highly stressed. Primarily a handgun class w/optional pistol caliber carbine with low light and live fire shoot house experience is a key fundamental to this two day program. </span>

- A functional handgun of reputable manufacture
- Optional pistol caliber carbine or subgun (22LR/9mm/40/45)
- Level IIIA body armor
- Seasonal weather gear.
- Functional clothing & footgear.
- Hand held flashlight(s) w/extra batteries.
- Optional weapon mounted lights
- Ballistic Eye protection
- Ear protection.
- Have the necessary cleaning tools and maintenance equipment/replacement parts for your weapon(s).
- Quality holster and magazine pouches. A minimum of 4 ea. 15 rd Magazines, more if you are shooting a single stack handgun.
- Minimum of 600 rounds of ammunition
- Be prepared to take notes
- Good attitude
