I have been using some out dated tools in the ballistics area and have been looking at the Kestrel 2700 to replace one part of the tool set. The ballistic app I use is the original Sterlok with the first version of the Weatherflow meter on an old iPhone 4s. My plain is to use Sterlok Pro with the Kestrel 2700 on my iPhone XR and put the data in manually.
So my question is, does it show the data for Station Pressure, Temperature, Wind Direction, Wind Speed/Air Speed on the screen as it gets the information so it can be used and documented or can I get it from the phone app?
On a side note, I do know that the 2700 only rages out to 875 yards, which is fine for hunting. But I do think Kestrel missed the boat for the guys just starting out in PRS or NRL and should have set it to go out to 1200 to 1400 yards. This would have made it a good low budget entry meter for the stock class people starting out. Like what the gun manufactures are doing (Savage in the ACC chassis).
