With schoola being closed and kids stuck at home what are you doing with them ? I picked up some nerf guns and hundreds of nerf darts for me and my son . We've been hosing the yard and each othe when I get home . Today I explained the dimensions of a fighting hole and told him to dig me one in the bak yard . Normally I'm flippin ship at the deatruction in the yard but now I'm trying to save his moms sanity . Explained how to grade it and dig a sump also . He's been at it for two and a half hours and is kickin ass . If he can overcome Aspergers I s÷ the Corps in his future . Even asked the wife how she felt . She thinks his diagnosis precludes him . We'll see . Maybe do some two man drills and get some buds to do dynamic entries with him . Hell we can use the TOC/Fort I built him a couple years ago .

Bored is just another word they need to work ditches or gardens can be dug filled then dug again . They would not be bored any more think how much cleaning all that penned up energy could be focused on if you just redirected it . Spring cleaning , washing walls ,vacuuming , yard work , and windows . Id would have rather been on my death bed sick as a kid that allow my fokes to even think I was bored . My projects were always way more fun though less rewarding then the hellish things they would come up with oh like pushing a lawn mower , rake , gass 2 miles to an elderly persons house just to cut there grass then walk home and cut my fathers lawn cause pop wanted his grass cut . bored is a plea find me work to do please ... use it like you own it . good luck

My kids got loaded up pretty good with homework. Combine that with springtime weather and the corresponding extended lunchtime "recess break", and they're staying plenty busy.

There are some plastic model kits and an RC car kit for the next rainy days. And when I can finally set down my laptop long enough, we're going to have some practical life exercises in brake repair and .308 Win reloading.

Keep sharing your knowledge, but mix it up. Tactics, comms, etc etc, great opportunity
to school them on some things that may save them later in life. And of course kick a ball
around and such. Keep em off the electronic toys as much as you can.

I recently downloaded all the classic Tomb Raider games 1-5 and have been laughing my ass off watching my boys try them. I try to expose my boys to classic games as much as I can because modern games nowadays pretty much play themselves and there's no consequences for fucking up. I know the right thing to do would be to tell them about save states, but watching them rely on save crystals is so much more entertaining for me. Anyways, here's me going through the 1st level of the 1st game all in one go:

My boy is 10.5. I work part time at a hockey rink. We have full access to 3 sheets of ice. No one else has been there except us. He's been there 4 hours a day since last Friday (except Sunday, I made him take the day off). He has to do his school work, house work and then it's hockey time. It's a dream come true for a 10 year old.

Sadly we live in a shitty town house in the city, so no archery, no shooting, no dirt bikes or digging holes.

My 3 are home but they have online classes from 9-1 and then quite a bit of on-line work that they have to complete. They have some lighter days and I don't really force them to do anything other than their normal responsible tasks at home.

Free time is important as they really miss the social interaction with friends.

I am locked in the den working so not a lot of interaction other than lunch and after work. It is nice to have lunch with them...

I think it is harder for me as I am not used to having everyone home when I am working

The wife is still working so Im stuck at home to Daddy daycare. School has a bunch of homework. 10yr old is good with her phone and a couch but my 5yrs old son is a fucking Energizer bunny, hours of kids workout videos on you tube, baseball, soccer, running around the block.

We have school at home. My wife is a teacher, obviously that helps a ton. She made lesson plans for the next month or so, and we treat weekdays like any other day. It has been a big adjustment, providing structure and a routine seems to keep my kiddo from worrying about what is going on and it helps maintain some semblance of normalcy. Recess has been a little different, but we do stuff in the yard, go on bike rides, etc.

I told my dad I was bored once when I was a kid. He made me walk fence and count all the fence clips on t posts and steeples in wood post and report to him how many there were and how many needed fixing. It was about 6 miles of fence. Never did I be bored again. I found something to do if I was bored.

My neighbors crack me up ! Since the kids are home , the mom is essentially the teacher while Dad is at work . He came home to GYM DAY ! Boys needed to burn off some energy !

This is week 3 for my kids being out of school. Last week wifes nerves started wearing. Helped her make a schedule for her and the kids to follow every day. So far its working. up everyday at same time, breakfast, chores, online school work, break for lunch, school work, outside chores,
then free time till dinner, showers then down time in their rooms. lights out same time every night. It is working well and the stress and boredom
are settling down.

Same here. Fortunately, I have a quiet space in my shop to which I can escape, but then I'm worried about what sort of mischief my youngest will create without supervision.

Starting today, my wife is also working from home. That's going to create a new type of tension I'm the household as she's not necessarily used to that arrangement on a daily basis.
