Kids first rifle

Well i figured it was about that time. My son turns 8 this week so we got him his first rifle. Went with a Savage Mark II .22. We took it to the range yesterday for his first time. Also took my Ruger .22 pistol for him to shoot. He had a little harder time with the pistol but as soon as he figured out the rear bag he did great with the rifle.

Damn I wish I was this cool when I was a kid. I never got to own or shoot guns until I was 18.

I got my son a Savage Rascal. He's 6 and on the small side. I am going to have him learn iron sights first than get a scope for him later.

My oldest daughter, age 6 has an old, miniature rolling block in .32 short, a Stevens Favorite in .22, and a .300 BLK.

My middle daughter, age 5, has a pink chipmunk and a browning buckmark.
The youngest one would wreak havoc if she had a gun. She's bad enough with her bare hands that a gun for her will be quite some time in the future.
