Stopped in the CMP North store at camp perry today.....
They got in another batch of the "rusty" kimber 82 rifles, they are on the floor and in the racks for sale. I looked them all over (the ones on the floor) and picked the best I could find for myself. Unfortunately the CMP lost my prior information on file so it did not come home with me today but will be shipped out to me on Monday.
All of the rifles were in very good condition with a few that could pass as brand new (I snagged one of those ). Most stocks have the light box cutter beauty mark. Mine had none at all. A couple rifles had deep cuts.
As for calling them rusty I would say 95% of the guns would clean up to like new. I did see 3 rifles that had light rust on the barrels. The worst one has a spot about 1/4". The price is still $425 which is excellent for what you are getting.
