Kimber Super Americans ?

I have a Kimber 22 LR Super America rifle. I am not familiar with these. Does anyone have any information about them? Thanks for your time.

Lots of info over at rimfirecentral.
There’s been 3 kimber companies, Kimber of Oregon, Kimber of America and the current one Kimber Manufacturing.
There is essentially 4 different Superamericas.
Kimber of Oregon A and B actions.
Kimber of America C action.
Kimber Manufacturing is a K22

A and B will have a steel buttplate.
C and K22 will have a rubber.

That’s a very quick/basic overview of kimber. Of course a pic will tell us more....

Thank you!! The only serial number I can find on it is “SA5”. I assume that means it is from Oregon

Sounds like a super early KoO A action.
Barrel should say Kimber of Oregon.

Is this rifle good enough to compete in local rim fire matches? I have not shot it

Depending on the rifle I believe it has the capability although I believe you will be at a disadvantage depending on what the shooting format/discipline is.

When you look at the Kimber board on Rimfire Central you’ll likely decide not to shoot any matches that could induce “stress marks” on your Kimber. It looks to be an unusual Super America. It may be worth more than most in near mint condition. However, you may not care and simply want to shoot.
Most 22 Tactical steel matches would be a challenge without 10 rnd mags. But there’s plenty other formats that don’t require the same time pressure to compete.
