Knee jerk reactions from our legislators

Here in Colorado there is a bill in the State Senate with all kinds of shit limiting what the Police can and cannot do and I am reading of other similar bills and laws in other areas.

Some of it I agree with but some things I fear they have gone too far with little to no thought as to how this will play out in the end.

To all of you many LEOs on this site, I would not want to be in your shoes now, but I was never geared quite right to be there in the first place and I know that. That is why I spent my working life as a mechanic and weldor.

Is there room for improvement and the police policing their own ranks? Making sure they hire the right, qualified people and making a way to get rid of those that don't fit in? Hell yes, and I have been a proponent of that for a long time.

However, some of these laws being proposed go way beyond that to the point that I would have to wonder,"Who, in their right mind, would sign up for a bin of shit such as this?"

I fear we will lose a lot of good LEOs and I know of several that are just counting the days until they can retire and get out and are hoping they can last it out.

Who or what is going to replace them? I don't think our legislators are capable of think that far ahead and their knees are jerking now. FM

I think you are right. Legislation that's in response to one event is almost always poorly drafted, over-reacting, and ends up being regretted, and often modified/repealed in subsequent legislative sections. Lets hope most of this stalls out before being passed.

Thinking about this I do believe that LE has failed at policing their own ranks and they have had time to do it but chose to lower their minimums and persue diversity and it ain't working out too well for all involved and that is ALL of us.

Police your own ranks and file and if you fail to do that it will be done for you and you will not like that and the ball was in your court.

On this morning's News on all Denver channels, the Libtard, Whackotards are now wanting to eject the School resource Officers from DPD that now stand watch and guard over the schools because they wanted some kind of protection should a school shooting go down.

WTF, they bitched because there were no Police in the schools before when shootings and violent attacks went down so DPD put them in there and things went along fine.

Now they want them gone because they fear a Police Officer at the school may make their "babies" feel uncomfortable?
