Backup rifle is a Howa 6.5 in a KRG Bravo. Having trouble with (AICS) mags dropping at random (shoot a round, mag drops) and sometimes rounds nosedive (I think he is pushing forward too hard and tilting the mag.. ) Trying to get my son involved, having equipment issues in not condusive to encouragement. Anyone know how to tighten up mag fit for this combo? Obviously don't push on the mag, but mag drops at random into the sand are "a bad time" and I'd like to clean those up. I offered to let him shoot my rifle, but he called it fat and said he wanted something lighter after a days work.

TYIA.

The bravo has some adjustment in mag tension. I think its in the manual, definitely on their website somewhere. Or YouTube.

Also if you're running long COAL and non binder plate mags you'll have much better luck if you botch the feed ramp. I did it with a dremel and a cone shaped diamond grinding bit thing.

Not sure on the howa mag tension adjustment, but on a 700 bravo chassis there is a small button head screw that is in between the trigger inlet and mag inlet. That can be loosened and let's triggerguard/mag latch move fwd and tighten up mag well. Alternatively, the whole forend plastic can be moved back(until it contacts grip panel plastic) and that will tighten up magwell. I would try moving front plastic back first, then triggerguard fwd. Shoot for a fit that is just barely drop free with empty and full mag. That will yield the best mag latch to mag fitment. Beyond that it is shortening mag latch at top. It does sound like mag latch is not fully seating under perch on mag, and drops under recoil.
