Krylon fusion on plastic

Re: Krylon fusion on plastic

Yup, I painted AICS skins with them and they work! Not sure if you want to go through my posts and find the thread or not, but all I did as far as prep goes was washing them with hot water and dish soap to degrease them, and hit it with the paint. You may also want to top it off with flat clear coat to protect the paint from scratches and solvents.

+1 I followed USMCj's routine and hit my AW skins with Krylon - it sticks! Only problem is if you accidently get solvents on it, then it comes off really easily. To me that's not a problem - simply makes changing the colour/pattern a whole lot simpler!

But other than that it has held up really well!

Re: Krylon fusion on plastic

I put regular krylon on the base plates and it rubs right off. It sticks just fine to the metal part of the mag though. And no I did not spray paint the ENTIRE magazine just the little tiny part that sticks out of the well and is connected with the baseplate.

Re: Krylon fusion on plastic

I sprayed my 2011 grip (the PO wanted red, I didn't really care for it) and it stuck for a couple years. I got some solvent on it but it didn't come off (maybe I wiped it off quick enough?). It did wear from gripping the pistol in the same place all the time. It kind of gave it a cool two tone when the old red started to show through.

How does it work with styro/urethane foam?

I know this is a dumb question, all I'd have to do is spray a styrofoam cup with some, but I'm wondering if it's even worth buying for the applications I have in mind, foam models.

Apologizing in advance for venturing off the reservation, and into the land of the elusive O/T-Monster (Oatie Beast?).
