I had the opportunity yesterday while at the Modern Day Marine show in Quantico to take a look at the new 3-20x50 PM II and to say that it impressed would be an understatement.
The overall size was right between the 3-12 and the 4-16 and the 50mm objective is perfectly proportioned to this optic. Locking MTC turrets are very user friendly and it's nice to have the option to leave them in the unlocked position when needed. Having a parallax range of 25 metres to infinity can also be very beneficial in many circumstances.

As suspected, the scope showed absolutely no signs of "tunneling' as seen in other PM II models. Limited range inside the exhibit shelter did not allow any in depth examination of image quality but what I did see was nothing short of what I have come to expect from S&B.

Overall I was very impressed with the newest PM II and was glad to finally have the opportunity to get one in my hands before I bought one. This sope will most definitely be sitting on one of my rifles before the year is over.

Congratulations, Schmidt & Bender. Job well done!

No, it is not in the parallax knob. A slight disdvantage for south paws, but personally I'm glad it wasn't changed.

I had the oppertunity to take a look at the 3-20 at the Eurosatory defence industry exhibition in Paris, and I was also very impressed.
Ive got an order in for several and can't wait to get them.

Have you guys seen the new MSR reticle ? upgraded P4 fine with bells and whistles, finaccuracy look like they where behind it.

now that ret in that scope will be a great combination.

I didn't like the illumination control where it is in the begining, infact I said to Hans Bender that it looked like a WWII Italian submarine.. to which he chuckled..
but ive grown to like it where it is, and infact when using scopes with a combined paralax and illumination control, i find them less ergonomic.

I happen to know that at first stage MSR will be available only for 5-25. But FinnAccuracy is working on it to get it in 3-20 too. Chat about issue here:

P.S. we met briefly at IWA 2010.

Pete ,

What direction are the knobs, CW or CCW , and is there a option to have them with out the locking turrets .

The locking turrets was around using the Horus reticle totally and not dailing in the elevation etc .

Cheers Chris

Glen

910 grams = 32.099305 ounces

about 6oz lighter than a 5-25 and its closer in size to a 3-12

i think its just about perfect, cant wait until mine arrives

That was also my intention and it was confirmed as soon as I picked it up.

Trust me on this one, Glen. You won't be disappointed.

Pete,

3-20 with MSR? What would be the price for these babies, I sent email about benders from the website last month but never got the reply..
