What are you starting with? One of those Century #5 clones or sporters?
    It's a No.4
Has pressure stamps and conversion marks to 7.62x51.
Bolt, trigger and barrel are in very good condition.
The wood has a few marks, but that's part of the character.
I intend to use it in military rifle comps.
It's got the potential to be a fairly accurate rifle, and once kitted out, another bucket list item crossed off.
I was sorely tempted to purchase a real L42A1 that came up, but the owner was asking way too much, and was a bit of a prick.
I just love the look of the L42A1.

Where did you find a No 4 already converted to .308? Does it have the correct magazine?
Yes it does, I also have four magazines from an auction years ago.
The rifle was in a bulk lot from an estate sale, I think.
Amazing what's lurking around the place.
I remember years ago, seeing 10 .303 barrels in a vegetable garden, used as stakes for tomato plants.😱
I bought five of them off the owner, they were still salvageable.
Went to fellow enthusiasts in the local rifle club.
