Just picked up a 700 LA Magnum action and wanted to know what it takes to make it run boringly dependable. I have seen guys build off a LA to run the 208 Amax and heavier. What bottom metal and mag works best?
Thinking about the bell & carlson long range hunter as it is only 2.5lbs. I like the stock that comes on the XCR with hook but prefer the grip angle of the long range hunter. Also looking to go with a Grayboe again but looking to keep weight down where I can. I don’t want to spend more than $500 so McMillan isn’t something I’ll consider at that moment.
