Labradar and 22LR ammo

I took my new Labradar out for the first time today. Actually not that new, I bought it just after Christmas but the range only just reopened due to Coronavirus.

I bought the external microphone trigger, the one sold as air gun trigger.

Tried CCI Standard Velocity and CCI Minimag. With and without suppressor, out of a Tikka T1x. Also tried a 357 magnum lever action.

CCI Std Vel (subsonic) suppressed- cannot get it to trigger at all, even with the external mic. Will trigger without suppressor.

CCI Mini Mag will trigger suppressed, with the external mic. Will not trigger suppressed with no external mic.

357 magnum will trigger even without the external mic.

Is there anything I can try to get 22LR suppressed subsonics to trigger?

What are your settings? I set mine to pistol velocity and it works wonder for 22lr.

Is there anything I can try to get 22LR suppressed subsonics to trigger?

Recoil trigger as mentioned above. I shoot my .22LR suppressed all the time and the inertia trigger works all the time even with subs.

Make sure the velocity setting is for handgun, the projectile offset is correct for how far you are from the side and that it is well aimed at your target.

Set it to handgun, although I had the side offset set to 12 inches when actually it was more like 3-8 inches.

Would be great if I can get it to trigger with the external microphone. A recoil trigger is just more expense and more flaffing around. I'm wary of wires coming out of a chrono and going somewhere else. That's how I trashed my Caldwell shoot through chrono, tripped over the data logger wire to my phone and it busted the socket on the Caldwell.

Thanks, tried that and it works with suppressed CCI standard velocity.

Also tried it with suppressed CCI Quiet 22, but couldn't get it to trigger reliably. Triggered 1 time out of 8.

Is there any reason to have the external microphone attached to the side of the Labradar? For shooting prone, it would be better for my positioning if I put on a really small stand, just above ground level.

Yes, you can selectively delete out shots in a string. Should be in the manual. Easier to read up than having to explain it.

The app makes it way easier to manage those shot strings, too bad the app sucks balls on android

I also shoot the CCI 45 grain Suppressor round out of my rifle. All you can hear is the firing pin and the "plop" down range when the bullet hits.

The trigger should salve your problems but I also use the external microphone. The microphone must be within a couple inches of the end of the suppressor. I've also used the external microphone with good success with air rifles that silencers on the muzzle as well. And again, it has to be within a couple inches of the suppressor.

The reason that I got the plug in trigger is because other rifles firing at the range will start the Labradar and I would get erroneous readings. I use the trigger when other people are shooting.

I just got a LabRadar and after reading everything here also got the Piet recoil trigger (and the MK machining sight and the Arcko machining base) but haven’t taken it out to the range yet.

I'm actually thinking, if you can go ahead of the firing line without worrying about getting shot, a Caldwell shoot thru chrono is a lot cheaper and simpler, plus the Caldwell app enables you to name your ammo type, weight etc and automatically logs temperature and barometric pressure......

And just the Labradar recoil trigger costs almost as much as a whole Caldwell chronograph!
