The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the assistance of the public to aid in an investigation regarding possibly stolen firearms. A recent drug investigation resulted in a search warrant being executed on a Lake County residence.

Numerous guns were located in the residence and some are believed to be stolen.

As is often the case, the Sheriff’s Office says, victims of burglary rarely have their serial numbers for important items such as firearms when they file a theft report.

The Sheriff’s Office requests that citizen’s who were the victim of a firearms theft and recognize any of these weapons or believe they belong to them, please contact Undersheriff, Ben Woods, and identify the firearm by make/model/caliber. He can be reached via email at: [email protected]

One of the most scenic areas in the U.S.of A. but, reservation, poverty, alcoholism, drugs, welfare, race hatred, = a good place to be from. Hope they find the owners and they are still upright.

Yep, I lived up there, east of St. Ignatius/Mission, in a logging camp circa 1974. I worked for Harold Mitchell, Chief/Tribal Council Chairman of the Flathead Kootenai.

Beautiful, but cold.

The native Americans on the reservation do have problems but I was interested to know that each one gets a subsidy from the tribe.

Harold aka Junior was tortured and cold bloodily murdered a few years ago by some of those i mentioned above. Things thereabouts have gone a longways down hill since 74.
Oh, and that subsidy comes from YOU not the tribe.

Im sad to hear about Harold; he was tough but a good guy. did you know his younger brother, Tom?

I cut for Harold in a gypo operation about 20 miles east of Mission up by a resivoir. Lived in a tent up at the job site to save money. I must have been crazy right in the middle of Griz country.

Tommy asked me down for supper after a week of rain and got me warm and dry by a big fire. Then I got snowed on on the 28th of July...damn that place gets chilly. As you said, some of the most beautiful country anywhere. I still think about stories of deer that fell in the flumes and wore their legs down to stubs.

If you ever run into Tom tell him the guy from Virginia with the two Weimeraner's says hello. I hope to get back through there one day.

Small world.

Likely you worked on a sale he had up by Twin Lakes. I loaded logs on that one for a little while after he blew his shovel up.
I haven't seen Tom in likely thirty odd years. I left that valley in 77-78. Still have land, house, and business interests there but spend little time there. Indeed it is a small world.
