Lapua Lock Base Bullets

Re: Lapua Lock Base Bullets

I shoot them out of my M1A and FN SPR. They shoot good enough for me. Getting about 2650 f/s and around .6 @ 100 yds. I'm getting about 7" @ 1000 yds. I get better groups out of 178 Amax's out of the SPR. I think the lack of info is more of a function of few dealers carrying them and they are fairly expensive. FMJ is more for punching thru stuff than the ultimate in accuracy.

I've got their 150gr LB, 170 LB, 185gr D-46 FMJ/RBT and their 250gr/.338 LB. I think that they're a pretty accurate bullet, but that the Scenar line might be a bit better on paper, despite having a lower BC than the FMJs, generally.

I shot some 185 Scenars and D-46s at 300 yds, for group and both bullets had their moments. I think my best group was with the FMJ/RBTs.

They're an expensive FMJ/BT bullet, so I'd imagine that most just buy the Scenar HPBTs. I got most of mine from a fellow Hider when he was selling them on Ebay for $20-$22 a box.
