Last weekend at the IR 50/50, 10 Shot, and Unlimited Nationals, 4 new world records were set. The match was held at the Kettlefoot Range in Bristol, Va.

Lapua rimfire ammo was used to set all of these records.

Bruce Hornstein, and Tony K Harper broke the 10-shot 5 target agg. record. The previous record was held by Todd Wooten.

Chuck Morrell, and Daniel Smith broke the 6-gun Unlimited record. The previous record was held by Eddie Bigley.

Congrats to these shooters and thank you Lapua for providing a superior product!!!

Now you have had time to do some studying if you still don't understand what a 10 Shot, 5 target agg. is just ask, but do it politely.

I assume since there was a 304 area code it’s some cool event in West Virginia.
I see names but no rules etc. If it’s a simple info page for members then so be it. If your trying to grow an event then I would saw there is a lot of room for improvement.
I’m glad to see Lapua did well at what ever specifically they did. Not because I have any clue at all of the specifics only because I bought a bunch of CenterX for my soon to be delivered Vudoo.

edit. I see the range was listed in the post. I live maybe 3 hours from there. Would have loved to see or compete. Maybe next time

Apparently the rimfire forum gets pretty saucy. I don't know shit about RFBR but saw the title on the main page. Came to see what was going on. Read the original post and thought 'not sure what all that IR stuff means but good for those guys and Lapua.' Also cool because I live an hour from Bristol. At no point did it cross my mind to let me head blow clean off my shoulders and start talking blind shit about something I obviously know nothing about like it was a personal attack that someone broke a record. You would think nesikabay was Tony Wooten and there was some real suspect shit going on at Kettlefoot. What kind of person just goes in like that not knowing who they are talking to or what they are talking about?

I'm not much of a reporter. When I'm at a match it is about all I can do to keep up with my relay, clean my gun, and shoot my targets.

There are many pics of matches on the RFBR websites such as rimfireaccuracy, wwaccuracy, or benchrest central.

Visit these sites and I think you will get the drift about what goes on.

But the only real way to learn about RFBR is to attend some matches.

You will be warmly greeted, m any will offer you any help you may need.

Complete different environment from this.

Years ago I competed with air rifles. They are very accurate. But they do take a good shooter behind them especially when the wind blows.

He just wanted to share what is more well known on other sites and with various goings-on, more of the BR crowd is coming over to SH, which is a good thing, so let's give it a chance.

Give your best try, there are a bunch of us interested what your strategies were, see your rifle, etc.

I would really really like to know how far up or down you aim in the various winds and speeds to get the perfect 10 scores you do. Most people don't even know they should do that.

What I think you are asking is for a shooting lesson. Thing about shooting is if you tell 5 people how you approach shooting a target you will get 15 arguments about how you should have done it.

It may be better just to lay out what I see missing here. I notice on the 6X5 thread you see very few wind flags. Very little talk about them as well.

Shooting a rimfire without flags is like shooting blind. I do understand why not too many use them here. This site is aimed at more tactical equipment and flags do look kinda gay out there on the range.

Be that as it may, they are essential to precision shooting.

I'm sure everyone has seen the wind rose, just in case I'll put a pic below.

Now here is a pearl of wisdom and also where I'll catch the most hell. Shooting a rimfire at 50 yards/meters can be precision shooting.

Beyond that, not so much.

At 50 yards or below in average conditions you can use your flags to predict your hold.

Beyond that there is so much going on you have to rely on sighters to predict your hold. At this point you are using an educated guess.

Fun, but not very precision.

The windrose is only a guide but can get you burned if you aren't careful.

Benchrest guns aren't real pretty and they aren't sexy, but they better shoot or they are worthless.

I use Ezell flags but there are many others you can buy or make yourself.
