Good day, i have some questions for users of 338 lap mag cartridge:
1. Can you somebody check G7 and CDM for Lapua Scenar 300grs? In Applied Ballistics app and in Kestrel Link Ballistics they have two 300g bullets. Their G7 are 0,382 and 0,383. But Lapua pages says that G7 is 0,368 and it is right. I have measured that many times from long range shooting and G7=0,368 is correct.
2. G7 for Berger Tactical 300grs is 0,417 and for Berger Hunter 300grs is 0,421. It is same in Kestrel Link Ballistic. BUT in Berger Bullets online web calculator they have opposite numbers? Same on web page Berger Bullets if i select Hunter or Target bookmark. Who is right? I asked some people from Applied Ballistics but They said again and again that in their bulet database is everything allright and exactly measured.
With regards Václav Vaněk, Czech Republic.

Nobody use these bullets?
The question isn't necessarily who is right, but at what distance was it averaged.

In your first example, Applied Ballistics has the bullet measured at .382 G7 vs. Lapua's number of .368 G7.

AB was testing at 300 yards I believe, because that is the industry practice here in the states. They could both be correct depending on what distance the average is taken from. If Lapua was using the average for the entire range of super-sonic flight, then you would expect about a 5% degradation in BC....which is pretty close to the difference between those two numbers.

By the way, I was priviledged to spend quite a bit of time in your country back in the 90's...Karlovy Vary and Prague. Beautiful country, full of beautiful women! Good shooting!

The distance they are measured at is not relevant. It is the velocity. The numbers we publish are the G7 averaged BC. We actually have 2000+ yards for testing, and multiple test sites. The reason for two bullets, is because they are two different lots which were published on request.
