I'm finishing up my first large frame AR build. Pretty much everything went together just fine, except for 1 issue I'm having.
I went with a ZEV receiver set, and the ZEV Wedgelock handgaurd. I also went with the JP 6.5CM Barrel Kit, that comes with their gas block.
After I installed the barrel on the receiver, I tried sliding the handgaurd onto the upper receiver. I noticed that I had to remove the gas screw in order to get the handgaurd in place. I removed the gas screw from the gas block and installed the handgaurd. Now I notice that the hole for the gas screw is partially blocked, so I can't get the gas screw reinstalled.
I also noticed that the gas block is extremely close to the inside of the handgaurd. It's not touching anything, but I can press against the handgaurd and make it touch the gas block.
Is it a concern that the gas block is so close to the handgaurd?
Should I enlarge the closest M-Lok slot on my handgaurd to allow me to reinstall my gas screw, or should I look for a different gas block, or a different handgaurd?
