Yup...especially this guy here... may free and 50% off certificates he provides for matches. Pretty incredible really. Many vendors do similar.
Yep, they come from prize tables at big matches and are often times pretty plentiful. Even my sorry no shootin ass has claimed a few. They are 100% legit from a known seller.
I got a free suppressor certificate from Thunder Beast and got the new 338 SR for $950.00. Know the seller is a reputable seller first.
I got a 40% off an XLR chassis at my first match via free raffle. The guy picked before me got a free Thunderbeast 22 Takedown. There was also a bunch of whiskey and cash on the table. Generous sponsors and great match directors can make for an interesting prize table.
Not saying you can't go by that....but people will travel 3+ hours to some matches. And that's on the close side for some.
Bottom line you can't go by region. Check the sellers feedback score, ask what match he got it at and call up the company and see if they sent any to the match director. They might even be able to tell you if any or all have been redeemed already. I have no idea how close they keep track of that but those are questions I'd ask if I ever did what you are doing.

If you can swing it go to one. If for nothing else to see ways you can challenge yourself at home or a home range. Been competing for 6+ years and there's always something to learn.
I've purchased one from here before. Was a prize from a match. He was cool and easy to communicate with. Answered my questions. He sent me a scan/picture of it so I could get the process rolling for my order. Then he wanted to mail me the original certificate anyway. I was able to place my order and get things started for the item. I just had to email or send the picture. The certificate had the event name. No name.

Not sure how some of them would be with saying you bought one. I'm sure some of them would want the person who won to utilize the discount for further advertisement. Some might not care some will I assume. The whole prizes non-transferrable thing you know?
