I just bought a couple of knives, and they are supposed to be the ultimate knife. used by the italian special forces.

they are made out of titanium, and sandwich tih carbon fiber. I have not sharpened the knives yet, but they are not as sharp from the factory. any recomendation how to sharpen this titanium knives.

they are the fox stealth beta titanium carbon fiber and are pretty light weight.

Interesting blades. I don't know a thing about titaniums edge taking or holding ability. Hope it works out for you.

Re: latest tech knife

From what I have heard and read titanium does not take or keep an edge very well. I may be misinformed so take this with a grain of salt, but that is why most manufacturers have stayed away from them. Someone had a small concelable blade that was made from titanium out and the oxidation of the air alone was enough to dull it without even cutting anything. Good looking knives though.

Re: latest tech knife

I would suggest using them for display and not screwing around with them.

They look cool as hell, but if you take a look at a real working blade, it's quite obvious that these will not hold up.

I am an absolute geek when it comes to carbon fiber and titanium, but the knives I use for work and carried around the world are regular blade steel. A knife is one of those things that you had better be able to rely on when the time comes.

I was in Italy and couldn't help it. http://www.extremaratioknivesdivision.eu/english/index.html It under their Heavy Folders, called the Fulcrum II T. It is the sturdiest knife I have ever held. It literally feels like a fixed blade when the blade is out (there is absolutely no wobble or anything). The website ever advertises using the knife as a lever for opening shit. God forbid the knife ever dulls, I would be more than confidant using it as a bludgeon because the thing weighs more than a fully featured leatherman.
