You're here already. Just find the marksmanship sub forums and start reading. You can also sign up for the online training.

$4000 dollar rifle, you'd do much better with an $8,000 Accuracy International AX, scarf is optional, SpinD is not, don't forget the Slap-Off

Best thing you can do is to read everything here, after that, when you have a good idea of the basics, then ask questions. If they are not well thought out questions, you will be smacked! Trust me, they like the dog pile method, as for e Marine thing, don't ask me, I was a Army guy.

Re: learning the basics

Go shoot, and do it a lot.
Started shooting my old .308 at 100 trying to get the holes to touch about 15 years ago. Started reloading about 3 months later.
As I didnt like over the counter ammo, and thought I could do better. And I did. Shot a 1.5 inch 6 rd group at 300 yards a bit later.Shot every weekend sometimes both days and it had to rain hard to make me stay home. Made every mistake you could and didnt do it again. Just got a new rifle a few years ago ( .300 win mag )
And started shooting out farther (1400) And it went pretty smooth but I shot a shit load at 100 to 300 before I tried any long stuff.
Learn good habits and practice them forever.
Spent good time in BRM in the Army learning to shoot. Killed deer at 50 all the time as a kid. Then they told me we would shoot out to 300 meters! Did what was told and they were right. You can buy $40,000 worth of stuff and still not shoot for shit. Learn the basics and keep learning everyday. And enjoy it even when you have a bad day.
