Purely to expand my knowledge, has anyone ever used one of the currently offered scopes? I'm not looking to get one, but have never seen one, and likely never will. Curious how well they work and what you think of the build quality in general.
He had issues hitting stuff until he realized it was calibrated for meters but we were shooting yards. Once that was figured out it did better, I played with it a bit while we were troubleshooting. I just don’t know enough about it to give you better info, but I can check and see if he can send me some notes
Only if it interests, you. I really appreciate the info so far. I'm definitely not getting one, just thought it was a very different approach and you never hear about them.
So my buddy sent me this via email and included the video he did with Corbett Leatherwood (son of Jim Leatherwood who invented the ART design), hope this gives a little more information
It’s all real. We didn’t doctor any of the footage. Love the scope. The mounting is not the best. The thumb screws tend to loosen once in a while so you need to pay attention and make sure they are tight. Really clear glass. I think it is a great fit for hunting and competition.
Thanks again! Looks to be a BDC type of ranging issue, no? I didn't realize that before, as I thought you'd get an "exact" range with the reticle, then dial for that range based on your ballistics. Looks like the range in meters on the cam is based around BDC stuff though.

* FFP mildot reticle
* In addition to an elevation turret for zeroing, there's an elevation ring (just ahead of the power ring)
* Power ring can lock into the elevation ring
* As you turn power to "frame" 18 inches on the target, you're also turning the elevation ring at the same time
* You can disconnect the power ring from the elevation ring to zoom in after you've set the range
* On known distance targets, you can just turn the elevation ring to that distance
* The elevation ring is the BDC component - presumably different rings for different trajectories
