Rifle Scopes Leatherwood/Hi-Lux Phenom 5-30x56 FFP Scope

Nice report. I have been playing with the Phenom for quite a bit and tracking seems to be quite good on mine. It has generally held up pretty well for me.

There are some quirks that I am looking into, but generally the scope offers a lot for the money, especially since the turrets are quite consistent so far. Now that I have the Athlon Ares 4.5-27x50 in my hands, I can do a proper side-by-side since they compete so directly against each other.

Thank you, ive enjoyed it so far and been quite surprised how well executed it was.

Any quirks youre willing to talk about before your side by side review?

There is nothing really major, considering the price point. There is some distortion in the image once you get away from the center of the FOV, so it looks like when the parallax is all dialed out in the center, there is still some once you are away from center. That makes using the reticle for holdover a little problematic. I am trying to quantify that effect. Aside form that, the reticle is pretty well executed and if the field were a little flatter toward the outer portions of the FOV< you could really do a lot with it.

I noticed that as well but i wasnt sure if that was just my astigmatism and aging eyes combined with staring at the glass too long.

I was not able to find any other fault with the glass so far.
