I'm sure this question has been beat to death here, but information on these scopes is pretty limited. Does anyone have any personal experienc with these. I have some rifles I would like to get scopes on at a reasonable price. Dont need top of the line, just something serviceable.

I'm clicking on <span style="text-decoration: line-through">"NOTIFY"</span> "Email Alert" for this thread.

I've been curious about these riflescopes for years; they have a lot of innovative features.

That Uni-dial thingy looks pretty impressive.

Re: LEATHERWOOD SCOPES

I have one on a ar of mine,it works fine for me and the glass is good. Some of the members say the adjustments may wear with alot of ranging but I have not had a problem so far. I did have a problem with the range ring being to stiff. I sent it back and they sent out a new scope in a week.

Re: LEATHERWOOD SCOPES

I just picked up the 1-4x CMR and am very impressed. The glass is very clear and has a very nice reticle. It is perfect for a M4 type AR. It is not quite 1.0x more like 1.1-1.2x but a hell of a lot better than the 1.5-6x scopes i have looked thru for close up work. It has a zero stop and lit reticle for for less then $300. I put it on top of my Noveske and shot up to 200 yards and worked great. Then for shits and giggle we had a 12x12" steel setup at 800 yards and i basically aimed at the 800 yard ticker on the reticle knowing 100% that i would not be anywhere close to that steel.

Wouldnt you know that first shot and it impacted a foot in front of the steel plate. Three more shot all missed barely and on the 5th shot i hit steel. First of all, i think any 4x is asking a little too much at 800 yards, but i was more surprised how pretty much spot on the reticle was without messing with it at all.

Like any other 1-4x scope this is not a scope for you to shoot tiny groups at 500 yards. But i think for the purpose of a 3-gun competition or a battle scope where a 5.56 is effective it is a great little scope.

Re: LEATHERWOOD SCOPES

I ran a Leatherwood M200 3-9 ART scope on my AR for a few years and just recently replaced it with a Leupold Mark 4 3-10x40 M3 FF TMR.
It worked fine for me and the glass was acceptable given the price point.
My gripes were with the "Made in China" quality of the product and how you had to be on a magnification for the given range.

The only reason I replaced it was because of the 300 BLK upper project that I'm building.
I wanted the ability to change magnification at will and also needed to be able to quickly make large elevation changes.
I run the TMR reticle on my competition bolt gun and my spotting scope, so it was a natural choice for me to go that route once again.
SWFA took the Leatherwood in trade which allowed me to pick up some mounts at a significant cost saving.

Overall, not a bad budget option for optics, but my personal choice would be the Falcon brand over Leatherwood though.
