I just got a windrunner in 50 bmg. I am going to reload for it and I have been looking at presses. Lee is the cheapest for everything i need but I want to ensure that the press will keep up with the accuracy of the gun and Loads I plan on using. Any input on the lee or what would be a better set up would be appreciated.
thanks,

Re: Lee 50 bmg kit any good?

Most people will tell you that the Lee press is fine for reloading purposes. My friend has a slight problem with their dies that had to be sent back to factory. If you read some of the 50 BMG forum, they also have similar problem. But, you can't beat it for the price.

I have the RCBS Ammo Master II. Love it. The handle bar is long making FL resizing a breeze. A little bit more than the Lee, but if you watch carefully there may be a sale every now and then for about $40 less.

I have the Lee kit, cant say anything bad about it, produces good quality ammo for me.
I also have been using it for loading 308's lately, like the priming arm, it's simple but works very well.

CH4D has a press for over 1000,LOL. The lee kit is a good kit for the money. Don't get me started about there dies, I beg to differ with the Quality part.

Re: Lee 50 bmg kit any good?

i use a lee bmg press
and can produce sub moa ammo with it
produced over 500 round so far
resized over 1,000 rounds of brass
resized over 500 heads and have had NO problems
the only hold back with the press is when making long COAL rounds for my match ammo the short jaw opening can become a hassle

otherwise its a great investment
