Left hand bolt gun

Re: Left hand bolt gun

+1 TG
Always thought if i had to start from scratch again i would go savage

But if i was flush $$ ck used for sale lefties here n other sites, ya can grab a full blown custom ready to go
Saving both money and time of build

Thank god i,m a lefty, availability limits my "gotta have it"

The torture you righties endure would be to much, way to many nice rigs for sale

Re: Left hand bolt gun

Thanks guys. I am leaning towards a custom. I have a 700VS that has sufficed thus far. I have put some money into it and have just about decided to step up and go custom due to the fact it has been almost impossible to find a ready built LH gun that would be any better than the Rem.

Re: Left hand bolt gun

I've got enough inventory to sell off if I need to so I can get what I really want. I'm beginning to see the importance of quality over quantity. I have thought about GAP rifles cause I have heard good things. I just haven't had a close up look at one yet.

Re: Left hand bolt gun

GAP built me a fluted 18" with surefire break, Mcmillan A1-3 stock,Templar action , badger bottom metal w/box magazine,308 & left handed. approx $4,300. Rifle shoots great. But I will be changing the stock to a Sentinental from Terry Cross.

Re: Left hand bolt gun

I'm a lefty too, tough to find much variaty, might check gunbroker.com or gunsamerica.com, they usually have a ton of stuff and quite a bit of custom too, I have purchased an Accumark .338-378 in lefty off gunsamerica, don't know about the weatherby action, but I really like the cartridge! Anyway, the purchase went smooth...

Re: Left hand bolt gun

I hear a lot of positive feedback about the GAP rifles. I may just have to take the plunge. A friend told me HS Precision made a good rifle as well. From their website, they seemed more expensive than a GAP and I can find almost nothing about them other than price.

Re: Left hand bolt gun

Kevin Rayhill at 308-432-5114 will build you one on a Savage action. His rifles shoot, I have three of them. Not as sought after as some of the famous makers, but accuracy is there. (Show your Kimber to your friends and your Glock to your enemies.)Roscoe here on the hide will build you a fantastic left hand rifle. I have a rifle that he built and I doubt you will find any better anywhere.

My advice is worth what I charged you

This is something that is often overlooked whether it is cars, guns, bikes - whatever. As with may things you get what you pay for and that is the case with Tactical Operations - aka Tac Ops. Tac Ops rifles and equipment have always delivered and continue to do so. Extremely tight and consistent machining, obsessive attention-to-detail, overwhelming accuracy, and a lifetime guarantee (excluding barrel life) are standard on Tac Ops hardware.

Above are two photos posted here by <span style="font-style: italic"><span style="font-weight: bold">dirtpusher</span></span> in his <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">ECHO 51 LEFTY HAS ARRIVED</span></span> . <span style="font-style: italic">dirtpusher</span> is in Loveland, Colorado - and I see from your profile that you are in are in <span style="font-style: italic">"Texas or Colorado"</span>. You might email or PM <span style="font-style: italic">dirtpusher</span> and ask him about what he thinks of his new Echo-51 - maybe he'll invite you to the range to shoot with him.

You can also call Mike Rescigno (Tac Ops owner and Master gunsmith) and speak with him about his rifles and other equipment. Mike may be able to arrange a "demo" by some Tac Ops owners in Texas and or Colorado. Ideally, a lefty version but the pool of lefty owners is obviously smaller than righties.

There are several Texas and Colorado-based Hide' members who are Tac Ops owners, and I'm pretty sure that they would be willing "demo" their rifles and suppressors if their schedules allow. Again, most aren't lefties but the build quality and accuracy are the same. One of my buddies is awaiting his lefty X-Ray 51, but he and I are in SoCal or we be happy to shoot with you.

Tac Ops office number is (310) 275-8797 - you'll most likely have to leave a message, but leave your name and number and tell them that you have some questions about a left hand build. Mike Rescigno will get back to you - most likely afterhours when hes' not running a machine or at a bench.

<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">Tac Ops</span></span> does have a web site, but the fact of the matter is that the Tac Ops web site is seriously lacking. Part of the problem is that most of Tac Ops sales is agency-related, and agencies and individuals know what they want and need and just mail or fax over their purchase orders on agency letterhead. As such many products such as the Clandestine 12 suppressed shotgun and SS and titanium suppressors aren't even listed, let alone spec'ed and photographed.

GAP made this beauty a couple years ago for me. It's a LH Nesika Model K action with a .308 broughton barrel. It was a bit pricey but cheaper than AIAWs or a lot of other custom makers.

If I were you I'd call george and ask him what his recommendation for a LH action to build on. Remys not bad but if you're going to bother having a whole custom gun done you might as well go top shelf for the action.

I hear Border makes some awesome actions:

I think george at GAP likes these guys:

Maybe here too?

Good luck and let us know what you do.

added for gun porn: Here's a remy LH action that I have on an AICS LH converted stock...

Re: Left hand bolt gun

Probably a different thread you're thinking of.

I've got myself a Tikka T3 Varmint in LH and couldn't be happier. Tikka is very popular here down under, and my local smith is just as confident in these as they are in 700's.
Another choice over the 700 was that i wanted an AICS stock, and now the LH versions only come in folders i cannot get one imported (folders are illeigal here in oz).

If you're looking for something different from the rest and you're on a budget, go for the T3, you won't be disappointed. But if you've got the money, i'd go for something custom like GAP

If freakin' Beretta would import the Tikka LH Varmint, that would be an excellent choice, but alas, no love for us poor Americans.

I'll chart this down as the first thing that the Australian's get that the US doesn't get for cheaper and/or easier. You're missing out, it's a sweet setup
