Leica 1600-B or Bushnell Fusion 1600

Time to upgrade my laser rangefinder (Leica 1200)and seeing what opinions are out there between the Leica 1600-B (not sure if it is released yet) or the Fusion ARC 1600. The Leica is supposed to have some new functions with mil adjustments and is a nice compact package. The Fusion would seem to be easier to range with as a binocular though not sure how the glass compares. Does it also have mil comeups? I guess the Terapin is the cat's meow but can't drop that amount of coin just yet. Thanks for your inputs.

My vote is for Leica. Had three models, all served me well.

1600-B is my first choice, small, handy, accurate. But I always want binocular range finder.

If you don't plan to use binocular, get the leica. If you are still going to have a binocular go with Fusion ARC 1600.

the bushnell with do 1800y.. no idea what the lica will do..

the leica has better glass but the fusion isn't bad. I like them equal but the fusion didn't fit my eye width so I traded them to a friend for a leica. If you don't want to carry bino's & lrf go with the fusion.

I would suggest the Bushnell Fusion.. Binoculars
It is now 2103 MST. I just ranged a rock next to a cow at 1832 yards. I just ranged my 1530 plate at 1530..that my survey GPS says is 1530.8. The glass is very nice. No question those are cows at 1800 not bulls.
At a recent match, I was verifying ranges outside of 1000 yards for folks with the Leica Genovoids in very bright conditions.

If a great rangefinder with a very good set of Bino's is what you are after, the Bushnell ARC's are the real deal.

I am going to sell my Swarovski bino's to buy my wife another pair of the Fushion Range finders/ Bino's..They are very good..

So looking at Bushnells website they say the comeups are in inches, cm's, MOA. Do you use the ARC function? My scopes are all MIL which the Leica does. Leica should also have temp, alt that I can use with my FDAC. Which power do you have with your Fusions? 10x or 12x?

I don't trust a range finder to tell me come ups unless it has at least a g1 calculator in it (don't know of any). I just have it tell me the incline/decline in degrees and put that into my calculator (strelok). I also don't have any Lieca experience at all.

That said I like my 1600 fusions. They range repeatably within 1800yd, are decent 10x binoculars, and an inclinometer. The glass has a blue tint but you often have to try to notice it. I can easily identify objects and people in shadows at 800yd-- haven't tested any further than that yet.

I'm impressed.

Mine are 10X. I have used the inclinometer, but I don't waste my time with the Ballistics Calcs...It only does MOA, but I wouldn't use it even if it did Mils...

The only downside is the well reported issue of how bright the readout is...My solution on very bright days is to range the object and move the FOV to something with a dark background...Or move the readout over a tree or similar. I have been able to get an accurate reading each time, just have to be creative once in a while.

Thanks for the inputs. So I'm seeing advantages in the Leica of temp, inclination, pressure and small and light and better glass. Would work better with FDAC charts.

Bushnell seems to range further with possible better accuracy. A binocular would be easier to range with (steadier)than a monocular and combines two pieces of equipment.

I just got my Leica on thursday. So far the glass and weight are great. Was able to hit 1688 on a gas well. Makes a nice monocular as well. Though it seemd to be tough to hit targets consitantly. If i tried 5 times, maybe 1-2 times would range.Not a big deal i guess. I think they make a tri pod for it, which may help.

I was in the same dilema. i went this route as i can use it as a monocular which is all i would need, and its less than half the weight.

I recommend the Bushnell ARC in either binocular or mono form.
I have found the leica glass to be very nice, but the lazer is just too temperamental for me. All the Leica's I have tried did poorly when the conditions were crappy, rain, bright sunlight, fog, snow etc.
My ARCs both in bino and mono form seem to have a much "stronger"
laser, not as affected by the conditions.

Try to test your tools in the same conditions you will use them in.
